Moon & Moxie's Cockapoo Puppies
Happy Holidays, December 23
Caring for Moon's litter in their final week is a whirlwind of bittersweet preparation, essential healthcare, and foundational training before they depart for their forever homes.
At eight weeks, Cockapoo puppies reach critical developmental stages that prepare them for independence:
-
Independence: They are fully weaned from their mother and get their nutrition from high-quality solid food, typically eating four small meals a day.
-
Physical Coordination: Their motor skills are refining; they can run, pounce, climb and crawl.
-
Sensory Growth: Their eyesight and hearing are fully developed, making them highly curious—but also more prone to the "first fear period," where new experiences can be startling. We offer safe exposure to new daily and work to empower and ecnourage the pups should they feel uncertain about something.
"Gotcha Day" is a bittersweet day for us, but the sadness of saying goodbye is far outweighed by the excitement of knowing the love they are about to receive. Whether they become a dedicated hiking partner, a favorite movie-night snuggler, or a child's best friend, we know they are going to fill their fur-ever home with a special kind of magic.
Thank you to our CHC families for opening your heart and home to one of our little ones. We couldn't have picked better families for them to grow up with.

Who's ready to meet their fur-ever familiy, December 9
Me, ME, ME!! ❤️❤️❤️💙💙❤️
Moon's Cockapoo puppies have a pretty big weekend ahead - Friday they turn 6 weeks (oh my) and Saturday meet their fur-ever families (yeah)!!
Pups have begun munching on hard kibble - though they still nurse and have meals of slurry (mixture of blened softened kibble, formula and freeze dried lamb).
Playtime is a blast - watching them take in each days new experiences. They romp, talk, and wag - wag - wag their tails.
We continue daily handling excercises as well as daily noise exposure - making sure to watch for startle or alarm - we are their safety, their cheerleader and encourager should they need it).
Photo shoot was outdoors, where the pups seemed to enjoy the cool crisp air and all the smells of winter in New England.

Let's play, december 3
Moon's Cockapoo puppies have entered the "Socialization Period" (approximately 4 weeks to 12 weeks of age).
Two weeks under their belt with eyes open (seeing the world around them) and their ears open (hearing the world around them), sight and hearing has greatly improved.
The pups are:
💙 Finding their voices - trying out different types of vocalization.
❤️ Mouthing and playing with each other.
💙 Noticing and playing with toys.
❤️ Wagging their tails!!
💙 Gaining strength and balance, able to move forward and backward on all four 🐾.
They've also graduated from the whelping box into a larger living space; where we've begun litter tray training - they are soooo smart, catching on the first day!
As for diet, momma is their main source still, but we've introduced slurry - and it's been a hit, not a drop left in their trough!
Our playtimes introduce the pups to new sights, sounds, smells - though we are sure to make the exposure items predictable and safe - offering encrouragement if needed. We are having a blast!
Getting our paws under uS - one wobble at a timE, November 17
Moon's Cockapoo puppies have moved into the "Transitional Period" This phase begins when eyes and ears open.
This is a fun stage that brings: first wobbly steps, first vocailzations, and waking / excitement when I talk to them.
We continue daily gentle handling excercises, and the pups have begun spending a bit of time outside of the whelping box - being snuggled and loved on by Drew and Reid (mostly when I'm cleaning their pen and momma looks on).
All pups have been lined up with families (currently on our waiting list). We are so excited to have them come meet us and the pups mid December.

love at first sight is real, october 31
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our latest Cockapoo puppy litter, born on October 31, between our beloved momma, Moon, and handsome dad, Moxie.
Moon did an amazing job - safely welcoming 6 adorable pups! Momma had 4 female Cockapoo puppies (2 black, 2 apricot) and 2 male Cockapoo puppies (2 black).
.
For the name theme, we've landed on "Cold Weather", which seemed fitting as we head from late fall into winter here in New England.
Happiness just got a whole lot cuter, welcome:
